Remember Aids?

Remember Ebola?
-----------------------
We are being manipulated again.
------------------
More people die each year from the common cold,

from aspirin overdose, from diabetes, from car crashes.
------------------------

In the US EVERY YEAR, about 2 1/2 million people die from something that's NOT virus related.
---------------------------

But democrats need to create fear and disrupt the economy to get Trump out of office and any lie and any

manipulation, and any lie is perfectly fine if it reaches that goal.
-------------------

Does anyone seriously believe that leftist democrat Joe Biden, dementia, and practically dead physically

will be allowed to be president? Whoever the chosen vice president is will be president when

Joe Biden "voluntarily" steps down. Biden is worth more as a martyr, than he is as a

live candidate.

---------------------------

So will he die of "climate change"? global warming? The Chinese virus? (It is racist to use the word Chinese)

Omologato Watches joins DragonSpeed for 24 Hours of Le Mans

Omologato, makers of the world’s largest and finest collection of motorsport-inspired watches, has agreed a tie-up with DragonSpeed for the 2020 running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which will see the brand’s debut at the French endurance classic and the launch of its new ‘Le Mans Dragon’ chronograph.

The distinctive Omologato ‘race track’ logo will be featured on DragonSpeed’s pair of LMP2 Oreca O7-Gibson entries, as well as all six drivers. The team’s regular European Le Mans Series number 21 car will be driven by Ryan Cullen, double-ELMS champion Memo Rojas, and IMSA star Pipo Derani, while the lineup for DragonSpeed’s number 27 Weathertech Sportscar Championship machine will be led by Henrik Hedman, supported by Ben Hanley (in his fourth straight Le Mans with the team) and another IMSA ace, Renger van der Zande.

Omologato founder Shami Kalra said: “I’m thrilled DragonSpeed that have added us as a partner for this historic race, especially given their consecutive LMP2 class wins at Daytona as well as their ELMS and WEC successes. Le Mans has long been on my bucket list, so we jumped at the opportunity when it was presented to us.”

The Omologato ‘Le Mans Dragon’ chronograph will be produced in a limited edition of 50 watches in collaboration with DragonSpeed, which in 2019 became the first LMP2 team ever to win IMSA, WEC, and ELMS races in a single season. The unique design will incorporate features reflecting Le Mans’ twice-round-the-clock challenge, including Super Luminova hands and a 24-hour sub dial.

Pre-orders for the ‘Le Mans Dragon’ will be available at www.omologatowatches.com/lemansdragon.

The new model joins other event-themed Omologato watches for the Dakar Rally, East African Safari Classic Rally, and Pikes Peak hillclimb, as well as its official Monza and Watkins Glen chronographs.

“We are delighted to have Omologato on board as our Official Timepiece Partner for Le Mans,” said DragonSpeed team principal Elton Julian. “Shami and his team have an outstanding record of producing watches celebrating some of the sport’s most iconic competitions, and we look forward to sharing the unique magic of Le Mans with Omologato come September.”

The Automobile Club de l’Ouest, organizers of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, have announced the 2020 edition of the endurance race will be run without fans in attendance. The decision, wake with local health officials, comes one week after the NTT IndyCar Series announced the Indy 500 will be held without fans due to the risks of spreading COVID-19.

The 88th 24 Hours of Le Mans will go down in the annals of history as, sadly, the world’s greatest endurance race will be run this year with no spectators trackside,” said ACO president Pierre Fillon. “Over the last few weeks, we have looked at many ways in which we could hold our event in September with fans present, albeit in limited numbers. However, given the constraints involved in organizing a festival-scale event over several days in the current situation, we have opted with the local government authorities to hold the race behind closed doors.

“There were still too many question marks regarding health and safety. We know that our fans will be as disappointed as we are by this decision but, with public health in the balance, it really wasn’t a difficult call to make. You don’t compromise where safety is concerned. Fans will not miss out altogether. They may not be at Le Mans, but our media teams and service providers will bring Le Mans to them! We are sure that we can count on everyone’s support and understanding at this time.”

The call to hold the event without fans comes after a plan to host a limited number of ACO members was announced.

Default McMurry to make LM24 return with Algarve Pro Racing

McMurry to make LM24 return with Algarve Pro Racing

Reigning IMSA LMP2 champion Matt McMurry will make his return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Algarve Pro Racing in the LMP2 category. The American, a native of Arizona who recently completed his university studies, competes in IMSA’s GT Daytona class with Meyer Shank Racing in the No. 86 Acura NSX GT3, and will reunite with the prototype team for his third attempt to win the prestigious endurance event.

In 2014, at the age of 16, McMurry made history as the youngest competitor to race at Le Mans as part of the Caterham Racing LMP2 outfit, and in 2017, he joined the Algarve squad. That relationship will resume for the September 19-20 race, where he’ll share the No. 25 ORECA 07-Gibson with fellow American John Falb and Switzerland’s Simon Trummer.

LMDh interest steady but timetable could change, ACO says

“Being with Algarve and at Le Mans is very special to me. The team and the race have both been instrumental influencers in my life,” McMurry said. “I cannot wait to be back and to give it everything I have to offer. Last year was really the first time since my spec Prototype Lights days that I had the right weapon to compete with – that being the ORECA 07 – so it was super rewarding to be able to set lap records at numerous tracks, and it will make joining Algarve’s Le Mans efforts with its ORECA 07 familiar right away.”

Team principal Stewart Cox welcomes the chance to work with McMurry, who entered the Algarve program as a teenager and returns as a 22-year-old bringing a lot of mileage and success to the effort.

“Our relationship with Matt goes back a long way and we’re really looking forward to reigniting the association,” Cox said. “Matt was very young when he first joined us for the 2016-17 Asian Le Mans Series, and while his talent was clear from the off, he has come a long way since then and will re-join Algarve Pro Racing as an IMSA Champion. Even without an IMSA title to his name, Matt was a natural selection for our 24 Hours of Le Mans line-up, as he raced with us at Le Mans in 2017, has always been fast there and he knows the ORECA 07 LMP2 well.”

Default Kobayashi blasts Toyota to Le Mans 24 Hours pole

Kobayashi blasts Toyota to Le Mans 24 Hours pole

Kamui Kobayashi set a blistering lap of 3m15.267s to put the No. 7 Toyota TS050 HYBRID on pole for the 88th running of the Le Mans 24 Hours in the inaugural “Hyperpole” qualifying shootout.

With a relatively clear track, the pace was astonishing for the quickfire session to decide the top six grid slots in each class from tomorrow’s race.

It wasn’t an easy run to pole for Toyota, as Rebellion showed a real flash of pace with American Gustavo Menezes, who set a 3m15.822s early in the session to put the No. 1 Rebellion R-13 on provisional pole. To put that lap into context, it was the fastest non-hybrid LMP1 lap at Le Mans ever, a few tenths faster than the previous best by SMP Racing.

Unfortunately though, it wasn’t quite enough, as Kobayashi’s 3m15s came shortly after and put the No. 7 atop the times on the second lap of his first fresh set of tires. He then went on to attempt to break the all-time lap record, which he set back in 2017 (3m14.791s), and was on course to do so but had to abandon the lap just as the checkered flag came out while passing through the final sector. Nevertheless it was a truly exciting session, a real endorsement for the new format.

Rebellion, while slightly disappointed it couldn’t steal the headlines, will be satisfied to have split the Toyotas on pace with its lead car. The No. 8 Toyota will start third after Kazuki Nakajima set a 3m16.649s. The No. 3 Rebellion will line up alongside on the second row in fourth.

In LMP2, Paul di Resta was the man of the moment, the Scotsman in the No. 22 United Autosports ORECA taking class pole by a few tenths with a 3m24.528s. Second in the session was Jean-Eric Vergne for G-Drive Racing, the double Formula E champion managing a 3m24.860s.

A late flyer from Nyck de Vries put Racing Team Nederland into the top three, a strong recovery from the F2 champion after a trip through the gravel early in the session.

GTE Pro featured all three marques in the top three. Best of the bunch was Gianmaria Bruni in the No. 91 Porsche 911 RSR 19, a real feat for himself and the team which prior to this week had no experience with the current 911 at La Sarthe due to the cancellation of the Test Day. His time was a 3m50.874s.

James Calado put the No. 51 AF Corse Ferrari second, while Marco Sorensen placed the WEC points-leading No. 95 Aston Martin Vantage AMR in third. The top six in the class was completed by the No. 97 Aston, No. 71 Ferrari and No. 92 Porsche respectively.

In Am it was a record-breaking performance from Come Ledogar in the Luzich Racing Ferrari that led the way. The former McLaren factory driver posted a 3m51.266s, the fastest ever GTE Am qualifying time at Le Mans. It was only just good enough though, as Matt Campbell’s best time in the No. 77 Dempsey Proton Porsche was just 0.056s off. Making it a Porsche 1-2-3 was Matteo Cairoli in the No 56 Team Project 1 911.

RESULTS

Race day is tomorrow at the Circuit de la Sarthe, the race set to start at 2:30 p.m. local time.

Default Peugeot confirms commitment to Le Mans Hypercar

Peugeot Sport confirmed that it will compete in the Le Mans Hypercar category of the FIA WEC with its new top-class sports car, today at Le Mans, and not LMDh. The French marque showed off design sketches and confirmed that, as previously reported by RACER, it will partner with oil company TOTAL to develop a 500 kW power 4-wheel drive entry.

Peugeot says it chose the LMH platform over LMDh for its project for several reasons. The primary one is that it gives constructors a certain level of aerodynamic freedom, which the company says “makes it possible to incorporate, with the support of Peugeot Design, the aesthetic detail of the brand.”

After having conducted multiple studies for the general structure, aerodynamic concept and the choice of engine architecture, Peugeot will come to a final decision on the electrical framework and then create the hybrid powertrain. All of the Peugeot Sport technical departments are involved in these development phases.

“Le Mans is the holy grail of the automobile world,” said Jean Philippe Imparato, Peugeot brand CEO. “It is the race who determines its winner. For us, this represents three victories but also the endless sweat, tears and joy and an incredible team spirit with TOTAL, with whom we celebrate this year, 25 years of collaboration.”

“This category unites our entire company and all of our entities, with features and technologies similar to those of our production cars. Through this commitment, Peugeot is opening a new register, that of neo-performance. We are coming back to endurance racing because we have the opportunity to work the sport in a different way, with the hybridization of gas and electricity. Peugeot Sport is changing its identity and launching its label of electrified high-performance vehicles — Peugeot Sport Engineered with its first 508 model, (with) 360hp, 4-wheel drive and 46g of CO2. This endurance program allows us to integrate ourselves fully into the transition of energies.”
The Peugeot Hypercar will be 350mm longer and 100mm wider than the current LMP1 rules allow.

TOTAL Strategy/Marketing & Research Director Philippe Montanteme added: “We mark 25 years of close collaboration between Peugeot and TOTAL but also of strong involvement in motorsport. Competition, firmly embedded in our DNA, represents a real technical on-hands workshop for our respective brands.

“It is in these workshops that we can work together, in search of perpetual performance and efficiency, in order to share the best solutions and products from high-level sport to our final customers. The Le Mans Hypercar project provides us today possibilities for joint development on the entire energy system of the car; on the efficiency of our fuels — for all the competitors, as the exclusive supplier — or for the lube, specifically designed for hybrid vehicles. It will also allow TOTAL and SAFT to study new battery solutions alongside Peugeot. TOTAL is now a multi-energy company that answers to all mobility demands while maintaining itself as a pioneer. The Le Mans Hypercar embodies this perfectly.”
The total power level will be identical to that of a 100% thermal 2-wheel drive car — 500kW or approx. 680hp — that will be distributed between the two axles.

Olivier Jansonnie, technical director of the Peugeot Sport WEC program, offered a few more hints about the specifications of its Hypercar.

“The car will be 4-wheel drive, equipped — as required by the regulations — with an electric motor and a maximum power of 200 kW on the front axle. The total power level will be identical to that of a 100% thermal 2-wheel drive car — 500kW or approx. 680hp — that will be distributed between the two axles. In comparison with what we currently know in LMP1, the car will be heavier so as to be compatible with road vehicles. It will also be longer and wider.

“This regulation is also different because it incorporates a performance balance. It certainly sets limits, but also allows room for many technical possibilities in our development, specifically on the general shape, as long as a certain overall aerodynamic efficiency is not exceeded. This will be measured in a 1:1 scale wind tunnel and which will be part of the BOP.

“We have confirmed part of the aerodynamic concept, the engine framework has been decided and we have chosen the functionality of the hybrid system and its fundamental design. We still have several steps left before our debut in endurance in 2022, in studies, the production of prototypes and finally, affirmation on the bench and on the track.”

Austrian-flagged sports car team ByKolles Racing officially confirmed today at Le Mans that it would enter the new Le Mans Hypercar category. ByKolles’ “PMC Project LMH”will see the team produce multiple hypercars for different purposes (a race car, track day car and road car). The racing version is set to use a normally aspirated 700hp V8 engine weighing in at 1040kg including ballast.

The PMC Project LMH has been designed entirely in-house at the team’s headquarters in Greding, Germany over the past year and a half by a dedicated team of engineers and designers, who have completed thousands of CFD runs to create an aero concept.

The limited edition PMC LMH Hypercar production launch is scheduled for the first quarter of 2021., and the company is now accepting orders for the car. The LMH race version, which like the Glickenhaus Hypercar features a centrally seated driving position, is scheduled to make its debut in 2021.

Rebellion Racing set the quickest time in Friday morning’s Free Practice 4 session with its No. 1 R-13 ahead of the Hyperpole Qualifying shootout. The best lap from the No. 1 was a 3m21.132s from American Gustavo Menezes, a lap which, weather permitting, is unlikely to be anywhere near quick enough to take pole for tomorrow’s race.

Second in the times was the No. 7 Toyota with a 3m21.630s, ahead of the second Rebellion — the No. 3 — that took third.

In LMP2, United Autosports continued to look strong. The No. 22 posted the fastest time courtesy of Paul di Resta, a 3m27.185s. G-Drive Racing’s No. 26 Aurus took second with a 3m28.586s.

The first of the Goodyear runners — the JOTA ORECA — ended up third, 2.4 seconds off the best time.

Further down the order, it was a welcome sight to see both IDEC Sport ORECAs, after their huge offs yesterday, making it out for some laps. In terms of the drivers, Paul Lafargue is fine and back driving. But Dwight Merriman will take no further part after being declared unfit to race by the FIA Medical Delegate. Instead, Porsche factory driver Patrick Pilet has been drafted in and will take his place in the No. 17 alongside Kyle Tilley and Jonathan Kennard.

IDEC Sport’s crew had a long night of repairs and rebuilds, the No. 28 car being rebuilt around a replacement tub and the No. 17 requiring a major repair and rebuild after the FP2 incidents for both cars.

One car that didn’t make it out was the Red River Sport Ferrari, following Bon Grimes’ shunt last night. Grimes was OK this morning and will continue to drive this weekend. The team is currently still repairing the front-end damage, and is targeting the warm up session tomorrow morning for its return to the track.

Meanwhile, in the GTE times, Porsche topped Pro with the No. 92 reeling off a 3m51.985s. Behind the two AF Corse Ferraris — with the No. 71 ahead of the No. 51 — took second and third.

In Am, Team Project 1’s No. 56 911 RSR set the best time, a 3m53.884s from Matteo Cairoli.
