For the second time this season and of his career, Byron earned the pole position as he was fastest in single-car qualifying at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Byron will lead the field to the green flag in the 60th running of the Coca-Cola 600 thanks to a lap of 183.424 mph (29.440 seconds). Charlotte will be the fifth race that Byron and the No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports team has started on the front row: Daytona, Texas, Bristol, Dover, Charlotte. “That’s awesome,” Byron said. “This is a dream come true. Obviously, I grew up in Charlotte and came to this race every year so it’s a dream come true to qualify on the pole with Hendrick Motorsports just across the street and all the hard work and everybody at Chevrolet giving us fast race cars. “This is pretty cool. William Byron is becoming familiar with starting on the front row of a NASCAR Cup Series race.

For the second time this season and of his career, Byron earned the pole position as he was fastest in single-car qualifying at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Byron will lead the field to the green flag in the 60th running of the Coca-Cola 600 thanks to a lap of 183.424 mph (29.440 seconds).

Charlotte will be the fifth race that Byron and the No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports team has started on the front row: Daytona, Texas, Bristol, Dover, Charlotte.

Aric Almirola will start on the front row for the fourth time this season after qualifying second. Almirola was the sixth driver on track and held the top spot with a lap of 183.069 mph until Byron, the 29th driver to make a qualifying lap, overtook him.

Completing the top five was Kyle Busch at 182.933 mph, Austin Dillon at 182.766 mph, and Kevin Harvick at 182.741 mph.
