GETTING TO KNOW NATHAN

Q. How did you first become interested in NASCAR?

“I come from a racing family, so as a family, as far back as I can remember, Saturday nights were spent at the dirt track, and Sunday afternoons were always spent watching the NASCAR race. I got a Dale Earnhardt car for Christmas when I was 8, and I have been a diehard Earnhardt fan since then. I got to go to my first race, Talladega, when I was 12 years old... that was 25 years ago, and I have been to Talladega EVERY year since then!!! There's nothing like experiencing a NASCAR race in person!”

Q. What makes NASCAR special for you?

“I like the non-stop action. I like the driver personalities, the pit strategies, the speed, and the skill. I like that NASCAR makes sure to keep the field competitive. I like that it's a high intensity sport that is also family friendly. I like that NASCAR seems like a family community.”

Q. Do you have any favorite NASCAR memories or traditions?

“My favorite NASCAR memory has to be the very first race I ever attended. It was Talladega Superspeedway back in 1993. I was 12 years old, and I will never forget the feeling of those cars coming by the first time at full speed. I was sitting with my family on the 2nd row and could feel the rumble in my chest as the field roared past. I was cheering on my driver, Dale Earnhardt, who led quite a bit that day. In the end, we watched as Rusty Wallace flipped violently in the grass crossing the finish line. I will never forget my first NASCAR race!”

Q: Do you have a favorite in any of the following categories?

Driver: "Jimmie Johnson and Clint Bowyer. Jimmie Johnson, because he is possibly the greatest driver ever, and I would like to go on a run with him. I am a runner myself and I think that would be cool. Clint Bowyer because he knows how to have a good time, and there's no way that wouldn't be fun!"
Track: "Talladega Superspeedway"
Sponsor: “My favorite NASCAR sponsor would have to be Chevrolet. I have always supported Chevy drivers and always driven Chevy trucks. They have supported NASCAR for so long, and have a long history of winning!”
NASCAR Snack: "I love the Talla-mento Dogwitch at Talladega... with an ice cold beer of course!"Q: What do you like to do in your free time?

“I love spending time with my wife and daughter. My daughter is 5 and she loves Dale Jr and Jimmie Johnson!!! I am also a runner, and love to spend time running each day.”

FROM ALL OF US AT NASCAR, WE THANK NATHAN FOR HIS CONTINUED SUPPORT AND LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM HIM IN 2018!Look for Nathan on the Official NASCAR Fan Council page on NASCAR.COM.

GETTING TO KNOW Moriah

Q. How did you first become interested in NASCAR?

“My father was a flat track racer in the 1970’s here in California. At one point he was ranked 4th in the nation. He introduced my sister and I to NASCAR in the 1990’s and we attended our first race at Sonoma in 1995. He took my husband to his first race at Sonoma in 2007. He also was there when we took our young sons to their first race at Las Vegas in 2015.”

Q. What makes NASCAR special for you?

“I love the family aspect of NASCAR. It’s welcoming to not only myself but my children. I have a child with sensory issues and when he attended his first race with his younger brother everyone was very kind to him. Unfortunately, their first race was just after Kyle Busch had broken his leg in Daytona. My youngest son wanted to make a get-well sign for Kyle and we took it to the track. When someone from Joe Gibbs racing saw little Noah, he gave us a tour of the Pit Box and allowed us to take pictures. 2 lifelong NASCAR fans were made that day, (and one reluctant Jeff Gordon fan found her new driver... me).”

Q. What track would you like to go to?

“Charlotte! We are actually planning a trip next summer to North Carolina to visit all the race shops, the hall of fame, and catch a race!! We have family stationed out there so it’s perfect!”

Q: Do you have a favorite in any of the following categories?

Memorabilia: "My kids and I have Kyle Bush shirts and hats! I still have Jeff Gordon shirts and wear them on race day too. I even wear my Rainbow Warrior jacket to the track when I have the chance!"

Sponsor: “M&M’s! Before every race we make sure to have them in the house and celebrate with them when Kyle wins.”

Favorite Place to Watch a Race: "We like being at the start/finish line high in the stands, so we are able to see all the action!"Q: Do you have any race day traditions?

“We try and watch the races together at home. If not, we record them and watch them later as competitive soccer is life in our house a lot of weekends. We listen to SIRIUS XM every morning during breakfast and on our way to school.”

FROM ALL OF US AT NASCAR, WE THANK MORIAH FOR HER CONTINUED SUPPORT AND LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM HER IN 2018.Look for Moriah on the Official NASCAR Fan Council page on NASCAR.COM.

Getting To Know Leigh Ann:

Why did you join the Official NASCAR Fan Council?
“I received an invitation and gladly accepted. I had heard of the council listening to SiriusXM NASCAR Radio and one day in my email I got an invitation

.”
How did you first become interested in NASCAR?
“My son’s teacher was a Jeff Gordon fan and his enthusiasm spilled over into our family, so began watching and fell in love with the sport in 1997

.”
What makes NASCAR special for you?
“Family – It’s a great family sport. I also found that they honor the military each and every week along with supporting causes that mean so much. NASCAR always has something that keeps you tuned whether you’re at the track or at home watching.

Do you have any favorite NASCAR memories or traditions?
“In 1999 my family and I went to our first race event in Sonoma. Wow, I can still smell the rubber for the first time. We had pit road passes and the second I set foot on it, I welled up in tears. It was a special feeling to be there. We attended every year from then on including a race in Texas. We all had different favorite drivers: Dale Sr, Jeff Gordon, Dale Jr, then Tony Stewart, Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Busch. My annual tradition is at the end of the race in Homestead, no matter who wins, I cry like a baby because it hits me like a ton of bricks that the season is over and I have to wait until February for Daytona. My husband pokes fun at me about it because it happens every year.

If you could go to any NASCAR race/track, where would you go?
“Daytona or Talladega.”
Do you have a favorite in any of the following categories?
Driver: “Jimmie Johnson”
Track: “Homestead Miami”

Memorabilia:“Scaled cars & driver shirts”
Where is your dream car?
“50th Anniversary Chevy Camaro”
From all of us at NASCAR, we thank Leigh Ann for her continued support and forward to hearing from her in 2018.

Current City: Mooresville, North Carolina
Member since: 2011
Getting to know Rosemary:

Why did you join the Official NASCAR Fan Council?
“I joined because I wanted to make a difference in the NASCAR Community. I wanted to express my opinion to NASCAR and not from my couch.”

How did you first become interested in NASCAR?
“I went to a race in Dover back in 2003 and sat in a Dale Jr. section, but was not really a Jr. fan because I didn’t want to be a bandwagon fan. Instead, I decided I was going to pick a rookie. Without seeing or know anything about any of the rookies, I picked Kasey Kahne as my driver. I live in Mooresville, North Carolina and Kasey’s shop is right down the street from where I live so I can stop in there anytime which is great.”

What makes NASCAR special for you?
“I just love the atmosphere when you’re at the track. It’s like one big family outing and getting to see, hear and smell the cars as they go by is just an amazing feeling. There is no other sport where you can be right up front to the action near your favorite driver.”

Do you have any favorite NASCAR memories or traditions?
“There are so many memories from going to the Daytona 500 and walking the track to going to Indy and watching them kiss the brick. My favorite track is Charlotte – it’s my home track and getting to see all the drivers at the track and the shops just makes it special.”

If you could go to any NASCAR race/track, where would you go?
“Talladega.”

Do you have a favorite in any of the following categories?
Driver: “Kasey Kahne.”
Track: “Charlotte Motor Speedway.”
Memorabilia: “All my stuff that is signed by Kasey Kahne.”

Where is your dream car?
“Ford Mustang Convertible.”
From all of us at NASCAR, we thank Rosemary for her continued support and look forward to hearing from her in 2018.

Getting to know Duck

Why did you join the Official NASCAR Fan Council?
“I think that the voices of many are louder than the voice of one. I have seen NASCAR listen to us over and over. Racing now, is by far more exciting and the competition is much higher than ever before.”

How did you first become interested in NASCAR?
“I was always into speed. All through my younger years, I had fast cars, motorcycles and was looking for more speed. NASCAR is faster, with less control than anything I could even dream of in motorsports.”

What makes NASCAR special for you?
“The drivers and tracks which they compete on, requires professional attitude and skills that are one of a kind.”

Do you have any favorite NASCAR memories or traditions?
“I have watched the ‘Hendrick Boys’ drive for years. My favorite, 7 Times, I have watched from his start, when he wrecked everything he got into until now being one of the best drivers ever to run in NASCAR, has been a trip.”

If you could go to any NASCAR race/track, where would you go?
“Martinsville.”

Do you have a favorite in any of the following categories?
Driver: “Jimmie Johnson.”
Track: “Texas.”

Memorabilia: “A closet full of 48 clothing.”

Where is your dream car?
“A 1957, 2-door red Chevrolet. I owned this car in 1965.”

What are some of your hobbies?
“Fishing is my passion. Our house is 1.6 miles to the boat ramp. I wade fish here in South Texas for speckled trout, redfish and flounder.”
From all of us at nascar, we thank Duck for his continued support and look forward to hearing from him in 2018.

Look for Duck on the Official NASCAR Fan Council page on NASCAR.COM.
