Final approval given for £315m Circuit of Wales project in Blaenau Gwent

The last piece of planning approval has been granted by the Welsh Government

Artist impression of main track at the Circuit of Wales Work on the £315m Circuit of Wales project, which will bring a world class motor sport venue to Blaenau Gwent alongside a one million sq ft technology park, can begin after the final planning issue was resolved.
Having gone through several planning and public inquiry hoops the project from Heads of the Valleys Development Company (HOTVDC) has received Welsh Government approval on de-registering 830 acres of common land that covers the existing proposed site.

It has been reported that work could now start early next year, but detailed timelines will be released in the near future.

The company has already appointed Spanish construction giant FCC as the project’s main contractor, as well as Abergavenny-based civil engineering firm Alun Griffiths Contractors.
