FL SOLO State Championships!
So who is heading to Ft. Myers Nov. 12th & 13th for the 2011 SOLO State Championships?Scott

Hmmmm, here's a link: http://gulfcoastautocrossers.com/for...onshipForm.pdf no mention of SCCA. I must be mistaken, this isn't the SCCA State Championships?? GCAC hold their own state championship event?
Oh well, still looks like fun. Anyone know when / where the SCCA State Championships are being held, or does one Autox club get selected each year to host the event?

I looked at a couple announcements from years past and they call it the State Championships... No SCCA designation. So a 'roving' occurrence seems to be the case. Either way, we'll be there! The GCAC venue is huge!

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

The Florida State Autocross Championships rotate around different clubs -- it's not specifically an SCCA event. I went down a few years back when GCAC ran it, and it was a wacky, run-and-work-at-random intervals flow. While the site and the competition are great, and I could camp out on Sam's couch, it's not worth the trip to put up with such a slapdash setup.

Either way on the 13th we have our annual CRX meet as seeing as I just had the brat painted and the engine is all good to go, FINALLY, I'll be attending that. Bummer that these events crossed paths.
Jamie I feel you on this. It makes no sense to me either. I wish the members down there could prove they are worthy of having a regular event without the issues they had in the past that had caused this.

It is a Saturday and Sunday. The deadline for having your registration in is 11/1!!!! Don't miss it! They have a huge grippy area and generally some very looooooong courses! Just do it!By the way, anyone know of decent campgrounds near Buckingham field (with power hook-ups)?Scott
