It going to take a few days to get the results out of the computer.. We usually set the software up for 12 runs.. but since there were 14 to 18 they wont show up in the reports.. I have to go in manually and look at every car # and their times.. Id say by wed ill post it here.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

thank you!

I absolutely love the Sebring auto-X events. I wish more clubs would run there. It's just nice to have facilities, the snack shack, covered areas nearby, oh, any lots of eye candy in the paddock and on track!

Your are right it is a Great facility.. Bathrooms, AC in some places, the road surface is great.

The only problem is that we need to get about 25 cars out to break even. So with the low turn outs we are loosing money. Great for the drivers - aka alot of runs.. But we cant loose $$ at every event..
We will have to see how things progress and if we can continue to do the events.

Just curious SMB, but do you think charging double for that many runs (and not really working the course) would still make it viable for folks?

Not sure if it's just me, but I'd be glad to pay $50-$60 for that many runs and no corner-working. You're getting a lot more for your money, and your time. Some people will spend $35 for entry fee, $30 for fuel to and from, plus food, etc. for about 6-8 runs an entire day, plus working the course, etc. For $20-$30 more, you are getting a lot more out of your day and your money. Like I said, that's the first time I left an event where I felt completely satisfied and got as many runs as I wanted. I got all the autocross outta me that day, lol.

I think it will be better too for those that don't have an entire day to run, and they can leave around lunch without feeling guilty. Some people don't like to stick around all day, especially when it's real hot out. They'll get an entire normal days worth of runs in the AM without being obligated to work the corners in the afternoon runs.

Easy justification for a price increase IMO. Hell, I think SCCA is now $45 or $50 for their standard non-member entry fee for a Solo 2 event, and thats 6-8 runs and course working.

Also, maybe this is going a bit off topic, but I like how you incorporated the event with the PBOC novice class, and getting them some "car control" skills from auto-X before they hit the track? It might not be a bad idea to approach clubs like Chin to see what they think about the concept. It would give the novices more seat time during their downtime between sessions, more training before hitting the track, and another selling point for the club. Plus, that might help absorb some of the facility costs? Just a wild idea.

Interesting you mention that. I was approached by a PCA CI who sat in on the classroom session and asked that we talk to incorporate AX feature for novices at their PCA events.

Thanks for the feedback. It's helpful to our program.

Anytime, and thanks again for the ride!

Even if I can't drive at some of these events, it's still helpful to ride along and see the different lines
