Default RallyCross?!

Is there any rallyx events open to the public in the Tampa area?

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

Scca Contacted me last month.. they were planing to schedule events. But CFR SCCA while they have a lot of money and can afford to loose money on an event, being such a large region things move at a glacial pace. I lost too much money last season I'm not doing them again..

If someone wanted to hold a rallycross test and tune I'd open up the track. but we'd need to find a way to pay for track rental and insurance. it's $700 per day.

I'd be up for it, I have a new(er) car I want to try. Just my luck, as I start to get into RallyCross the events go away... Tim Mincey hasn't had much luck in S. FL either. Looks like great fun to me!

Yet another thread asking, but when the events happen, apparently folks didn't show. I was privileged to be able to go to the last (and final) local rally-x, and I was stunned at the lack of turn-out. Let's hope that more and more of us keep inquiring and trying to get it going again, and see if we can build a decent core of locals that can afford to make these events a permanent fixture.

That's a 3+ hour haul... damn tempting, but with no back up or tow rig, no place to stay, etc., I'm very hesitant to be in the position of rally-x'ing the car I drive over there. Dammit, 'cause I'm really tempted... hmmm....
