Default Florida Suncoast BMW Autox Video

What an interesting and challenging course setup yesterday by FSC BMW. We all got 9 runs and the best weather in the world.

I had an extremely hard time putting together clean runs. Most cones were knocked down in slaloms by the rear tires, but some were just knocked down because of over driving. On my 8th run I finally hit no cones. My last run was the fastest raw time but I hit a cone at the end. You'll see when I'm pounding the steering wheel.

Here's some video. Post yours if you were there. Hope to see you guys at the next event. We will be running an event at Sebring in the paddock area in a couple months. Stay tuned!

I'm glad I wasn't the only one having trouble with clean runs on that course! I thought it was just me. It was tough to get the hang of how the course flowed, and really didnt pick up on how to drive it well until the second session in the afternoon. There were some quick cars there; I believe the EVO ended up posting a clean 46.6 on his last run! The caddy couldn't hang in the 8 cylinder/turbo class... I ended up with a best of 53.6 which put me 5th place of 8, but I still had a blast.

I brought the GoPro but was too frustrated trying to get the hang of the course I completely forgot to mount it and record some runs.

Yea it was a tight course. I think my car the E34 wagon and Caddy and the Camero were the largest cars out there. And some of the gates were really tight. I had fun and was able to nock agout 6 sec off my time.. I still was only in the 57s.. but had fun.

I heard it was a tight course out there and from the look of the vid it was another thread the needle type.

I like the offset slalom, that was interesting.

Went to the Geneva SCCA event yesterday, it had a lot of interesting transistions and sliding the car actually helped. Craziness.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

I finally pulled in a 52.2 I believe in my 8 (of 9) run. My last run I tagged the final slow down box's cone and that run was 51.8 I believe. This is where you see me pound the wheel and get oversteer from it!
