Thoughts on the X Class being brought back with SCCA?
So this year I have a co driver, Keith. A RWD guy - literally all 23 of his cars are RWD and maybe one AWD - who wanted to co drive my car because its a go-kart in his opinion.
Anyway. We go to the first event in Deland and he hears about the X Class:
He signs up. He likes a challange as my XP car which is now an XXP car is so way under the prepared point of being an XP car is now going against National Champs and those who trophied.
I'm actually enjoying it. He didn't do all that bad - if he had shed the one cone he may have given a bit of a shock to the other drivers - and the PAX multiplier for XP isn't very high.
Anyone else running in this class this year?

Anyway. We go to the first event in Deland and he hears about the X Class:
“X” Class This year we will also be bringing back the “X” class. This class is for drivers who want to compete head to head across classes. This class will be scored using the PAX multiplier from the driver’s normal car class. The X class will be awarded trophies and points as any other class. To compete in the X class simply register in your normal car class, but when checking in for the event tell the registration person that you want to compete in the X class.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.
