Best Autox suspension?
I have a 96 Accord and im interested in autoxing, but with the marshmellow soft suspension, I have the turning ability of a car without power steering. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a good suspension for my car? Thanks in advance
HOWDY! lol umm i have really soft suspension as well (hence the name) but i autocross the piss out of my car heh heh you should come out to palm bay with us on the 22nd there is a class for novices so you dont have to worry about your car and besides as soon as you change the suspension you wont be in your stock class anymore and you will end up competing against some of the more brutal cars like that wicked supercharged miata 270 RWHP in a MIATA LOL. (actually he is in SM2) but you get the point. anywho yeah pm me or catch me on one of my IM's and ill give you tha DL lol

also:
suspension techniques sway bars, front and back
prothane bushings

TOP END: any true coilovers (tien, true choice, tanabe, etc) WITH dampening adjustability.
MID RANGE: ground controls (special order a stiffer rate) and koni yellows, also neuspeed race springs also work nice, but the GC would allow for corner weighting.
LOW END: KYB AGX with some neuspeed race springs
I have apexi WS coilovers on my accord, even though I preferred the stiffness of the konis/neuspeed race when i had them before, the weight transfer is nice and very predictable. If your going to go with suspension techniques bars (I like my rear one) make sure you have dampening adjustability on the struts. bc if you dont, the front bar will stiffen the front up so much that it wont allow the front end to bite, thus having to run a much softer front dampening then the rear.
i cant stand camber kits, they rub the shit out of your fender. just get a nice coilover setup and just dont slam the car, then you can adjust out the camber enough on the stock adjustments to where you still have camber, but not an over amount.
also pick up some falken azenis 205-50-15s before you buy anything else

the azenis are fine.. but if he wants to have some sort of competitive car, i would recommend he remain in stock category. you can get away with adjustable shocks to tune the handling in stock (which is my situation), but he must get another set of wheels (for daily driving) and run R tires on the stock wheels.
remember.. autocross is primarily driving, secondarily tires, and everything else is tertiary.

i run bliestiens, i ran penske's in race car! get the best you can afford, though i dont like the way the jdm coilovers are set up, alot stiffer front spring rates! true choice has nice set ups, and i RECOMEND CAMBER KITS, proper aligment is very important!! stay away from cheap setups and raise your car if you have rubbing problems!! good luck, eric
