Road Race THIS Saturday... (non SCCA)
The International Motorsports Club of UF is hosting our semi monthly road race event at the Ocala Speedway...
Here's a quote from the Club President: Brian S14-
"[Entrants] Should be there by 9:45 at the latest...
[From I-75 get off on exit] Old 71, head East. Go ~.5 miles until you cross the railroad tracks, then left at the next light. Go another mile and you'll see it on the left.
And paying on site is cool..."
It's like $25 or something similar... no more than $30 (in fact I never remember it being over $25). It's a 60 second course and the same course is used every event, so comparisons can be made from event to event. Drifting is allowed and encouraged by the screams of the people watching.
ONE CAR AT A TIME!!! Like autoX.
Tech involves a safety only inspection. There are no classes, no trophies, just bragging rights and maybe some video highlights.
I'll be there for my first time this Saturday.

Yeah no shit...my happy ass is gonna be on a plane heading for Miami at 10 am...oh well, I'll see you all Sunday
