Daytona autocross May 2nd.
Any information on this thing.
I signed up for it, but I can't seem to find out much about it.
No flyer on the SCCA site that I saw.
I'm guessing there is a SCCA race there and they are adding a Sunday autocross.
Maybe it's time to mount the R-compounds.

We have a regional race & enduro for the weekend. Scott, I'm Jim's friend from Nokomis, met at the Kennel club Auto-x. I plan on having my F-Production car out for the weekend. Follow the signs to trophy if you want to stop by.

Hmm, since Daytona is my old hometown I may have to see if I can make it to this event.
Could visit some old friends and family and get a little cone dodging in as well.

Registered and looking forward to this event.
And Mark there were some course maps that were out on the SCCA Yahoo! forum. It looked good. Let's say way better than the past event they held there for Autox.

Important Event Registration Info
CFR SCCA Solo at Daytona International Speedway (DIS) Sunday May 2, 2010
All participants must register/sign waivers/get DIS credentials prior to 9 AM. Without DIS credentials, you will not be able to enter the raceway. If at all possible, please register online but you will still need to pick-up DIS credentials at the site on Sunday morning.
Registration/Waivers/Credentials will only be available in the large tent near the Turn 1 tunnel entrance (Gate 39) noted on the DIS diagram below. Registration will close at 9 AM sharp. Access to DIS after that time will not be available unless you have DIS credentials.
Once you get DIS credentials, you may enter DIS at Gate 39 (noted) and leave and re-enter at your option. Food will not be available at the Solo site. However, the DIS restaurant in the Fan Zone near the NASCAR garages will be open or you may exit the track at the TURN 1 or TURN 4 tunnel to International Speedway Blvd, where many restaurants are located. Your credentials will allow you to return.
Once entering DIS at Gate 39, follow the indicated route on the map to the CFR Solo area between NASCAR Turns 3 and 4 (east side of the track).
IMPORTANT: Car carrying trailers can only enter/leave the infield of the track through the Turn 1 tunnel. The Turn 4 tunnel is not wide enough to accept these trailers. Also, keep in mind that a CFR race is ongoing this weekend so there will be other non-race traffic on the interior roadways of DIS.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.
