So you can determine to the hundredth of a second if you can drift (and/or drive) better than someone else.

Anyone can turn a wheel and stomp on the pedals, but to do so in a way that gets you from point A to point B better than the other guy is what it is all about.

Even if you aren't that good it can allow you to learn how to get better.
