You can get more time doing ride alongs with instructors. But if you want seat time its not an Auto X.. Maybe an Evoltion Auto X school or a Sebring track day..

At the BMW events we try to have the course run about 1 min. And you will get 5 to 8 runs. It depends on weather an how many others show up. Our last event we only had 35 cars and every one got 12 runs. So that was 12 min.. but it varies.

Autocross isn't about seat time, it's about being able to look at a course, figure out how it needs to be driven, and then DRIVE it with very few opportunities to get it right. It's all about skill and precision.

(kinda like golf, or bowling... but faster)

You get a lot more seat time and a much more satisfying driving experience from autocross than you do drag racing!

That is a fact Loren. The truth is, I just don't get the appeal of Drag Racing

Seriously, give AutoX a try. Huge rush, lots of fun... and it really can be a humbling experience (trust me I know). If it was any easier, it would be called Road Racing!

Some cars can do both, but not very well at either! AutoX wins!

I don't know, but it's all in a straight line so it doesn't count.

This isn't the drag racing forum, you'd do better to ask there. But, a slow car completes the quarter mile in 16 seconds doing nothing but mashing the gas and shifting. Compared to 45 seconds for an average autocross run where you actually have to turn and use the brakes.

You must have a valid driver's license. If you are under 18, bring a guardian to sign the minor waiver, 18+ you can sign for yourself.

No tall trucks or SUVs - most folks autocross the same car they drive to work.

It IS fun!
