This post is for 138MustangGT mainly.. although i thought that maybe some other people might be able to give some input.

I have a sponsor willing and wanting to run a Rally Cross.. they ran one last year.. it was very sucessful except this year they would like to team up with the SCCA .. and run things a little differently.

myself and a number of others that competed expressed that we didnt feel the track was safe enough for daily driven cars.. too many chances to hurt your car and thust you could only drive at about 50% so as not to break anything.. the course was perfect for the few people who ran fully prepped cars..

what wed like to do this time is run it similar to a normal auto cross except use a large patch of dirt instead of a large patch of asphalt..

so what i am asking here is who is the best person to talk to in the SCCA about this.. the sponsor (Mastro Subaru - www.mastrowrx.com) are very serious about making this happen..

its obviously not just for Subarus or AWD cars.. the more cars in different classes we have the more sucessful it will be..

Mastro is looking to do this sometime around September.. same time as it was done last year.. and if all goes well.. if we can find a decent venue.. maybe it can happen more than once a year..

i know i can round up a reasonable amount of volunteers from the SE region of the Imprezza Owners club for interest in this.. but we really want SCCA backing.. just as a lot of other regions have.. our brothers up north have regular autocrosses..

anyhow.. anyone.. PM me with and info you think might help get this working.. and 138MustangGT.. could you assist in getting Mastro in contact with the correct people in the SCCA.. or even just help me work out whats required for this.

Do you know Neal Tovsen Will Conklin and Katie Lacie? They have FAR more experience than I do regarding SCCA and dealing with Mastro.

Id drive the Mustang out there if I have adjustable shocks. No way Ill do it with Bilsteins! But if I get Tokicos I may just do it! OR pay someone to let me co-drive their car. I can throw any RWD car around in the sand/muck/mud back home. I even used to go muddin in my 85 Ford LTD and never once got stuck!!!

Ill throw the ideas by someone tomorrow and if you read this which I doubt by tomorrow and you are coming FIND ME@!@@

 

yup i know will katie and neal... i have auto crossed with them in the past and they all participated in the last Rally Cross Mastro helld..i just thought you might know some of the people we need to talk too.. i might even try going along to our regions SCCA meeting which is held here in Tampa once a month..
