hey guys i had an idea to put toghether an autocross in the bay area tampa or st pete my father works for nascar and knows alot of big people in scca and said he would have no problem getting them to insure and sponsor the event our family has set up many huge parking lot races ranging from 1/4 mile to almost 1.5 miles. it would be cool and ive seen a few places in the bay area that could work if anyone is interested please let me know either by phone 727-392-1811 or email of course we would need sponsors and a good turn out. im sure we could get a rdio station there maybe have a car show or something else to make it fun. let me know on some ideas it could be fun

 

There are already several Auto-X events in the bay area including SCCA. What is it your looking for?

 

The Florida State Fairgrounds site we used last year is kinda up in the air if you have any SOLID recommendations for sites PLEASE let us know immediately so negotiations can begin! The Tampa area event coordinator (Mark Leon) is/has moved to Atlanta so we have no-one in town who can do this kinda stuff. Give INFO!!! Well bring the race to you (and all the other SCCA people in Tampa)

I have heard in conversation that there is a kart (go karts) track in the St. Pete area. I dont know if it is large enough to handle cars or if it was purpose built for karts. Just throwing it out there if no one else has heard of this let me know and I will talk to the guy that told me that and see if he can produce it.

I am also willing to help with coordination and such so lemme know.

The fair grounds were ok but i would MUCH rather find a spot like MacDill again...

heres some zany news... Grand Prix event in St. Pete next year!!! Called the St. Pete Gran Prix. Go figure but hey I want my pro license. But thats not for us if we wanna grand prix in St P we gonna avoid the P.D.
Give me NAMES and places and INFO of these sites so I can get someone to check them out and negotiate a contract!!!

We HAVE to find another site OTHER than Gainesville as it is the Gville events are looking like they are all gonna be double trophy events instead of practice then trophy. Make me wrong please.
