Grassroots Motorsports Magazine is doing their annual low-buck race car challenge. Over 90 teams are expected to attend this years event. The race is for anyone that can build a car for less than $2002 dollars. Its pretty neat...if you sell off parts of your race car like seats for example then you can add that money back to your race car etc. The event has three parts a drag race at Orlando Speedworld on Friday followed by a concourse (car show) and autocross event on Saturday. You get points awarded for your events depending on how well you do.
Its too late to enter this year but I am looking at competeing next year. Sounds cool?

The event is Feb 24-26. The 26th is an all-comers autocross. The event is held in Palm Bay (an hour west of Orlando)

Thats the point. Its a challenge. Anyone who has a lot of money can have a fast car. With this you have to be creative and resourceful. You would be surprised at what people will come up with. Ill be there with plans to autocross on Sunday.

 

i think last years winner was a dodge omni that ran like low 13s or high 12s i think..
