Another tire decision thread :)
I'm posting this in here since it's where i believe the wisest tire connoisseurs are. (yes i had to look up the spelling)
Tires are for Z31, weekend car, mostly cruising and spirited driving
must have good/decent grip in dry and wet, longevity, close to stock ratio (225/50/16) and be cost efficient.
I'd like wider but that equals $$$, so i dont mind a little stretch
i've been looking between 225/40 to 255/35
wheels are 18x8.5 and 18x9.5
any recommendations???

Good call Word. I was thinking the same. They are a little soft RE wear. But great tires for the money. I have 4 Sebring track days on my set of Sumitomos.
I like them as a good performance street tire.

Good tire for the price.
Though if you place a Sumitomo 225 next to a Kumho 225, the Kumho will be noticably wider. I think the Sumitomo measures a bit of the curve up the sidewall.
I did not get them because I wanted to try out a pricier tire to see if it was worth it.
Hence my placement of the 2 tires side by side.

I think the 3s are the next gen, so the 2s are out of production. I could be wrong though. I have the 3s on my car. Great for the price. Got mine from Tire Rack.
Oh! And wider is better in my opinion.
