Mustang handling vs. Porsche Brakes
Well During the Koni Challenge race, our car ahppened to have a little run in with the number 88 Porsche under one of the full course cautions.

The story I heard from our driver was that the porsche locked up his brakes, and our driver swerved to miss him but wasn't quick enough. The porsche team wasn't very happy though. This bent our second axle of the weekend.

Yikes, under yellow, not good at all....

Yeah, Grand Am officials never came to talk to us about the incident though, so I guess they found the Porsche at fault. I know we were supposed to maintain race pace till the pace car comes out, but you really shouldn't be pushing your car so far as to spin under caution.

the problem with a 911 is that when you stop pushing it, the car drives completely differently.

I wouldn't know, but the pictures seem to indicate he locked his brakes up, I assumed he entered the corner too hot. But again, I was sitting in the pits when it happened and it wasn't filmed.
^ He probably just lifted off as he entered the turn and the weight came around on him....easy to do in a Porsche....or any rear engine car for that matter.

Yes it was our first lap under caution, our driver had just crossed the start/finish and we radioed him to notify him of the caution. His response was "Fuck! I just hit a guy."
He lifted just at the apex and the back end came around - He didn't start braking until after the 2nd frame - probably when the mustang came into his line of sight. I'm surprised you guys didn't get dinged for following too close under a caution. It should have been a one car incident.
