I took the Stig for a ride in my car at the autox on Saturday. At least her shirt said she was the Stig, anyway.

Though Vivek always thought it was rumored that The Stig was varied at times.
We thought one ep it was L Hamilton.
The Stig swimming in the pool with his lady and her Stig helmet still makes me laugh.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

There are certain times when it is obviously not the regular Stig. Random stunts like the Winter Sports special snowmobile jump- stuff that goes outside the skillset of driving really fast around a track. Then other times like the Renault F1 lap of the TG test track- I would speculate that it was a team driver. The mystery of the "real" Stig's identity has never been that big of a deal to me. If it isn't the guy they're talking about now, it's somebody else very much like him, a driver from a second-tier racing series with solid driving skills but with low enough star power that they'd consent to being mostly anonymous.
