Default *Reg closes tomorrow night* SCCA Brooksville 2-14-09 One day event.

West Coast Central Florida Region SCCA presents...

at the Hernando County/Brooksville Airport...

A Valentine's Day autocross! Feb. 14th is a Saturday this year and we are holding a one-day points event!

To register go to: DLB Racing Calendar and look for the February events on the calendar.

For a detailed Google map of the event site with directions, go to: http://maps.google.com/maps?t=h&hl=e...1&source=embed

Registration closes at midnight Friday Feb. 6th. Registration for drivers is now online and prepay only. Everyone entering the site, including guests (non-drivers), must be on the list by midnight this Friday. Contact me, Albert, with the full names of guests who are most likely to attend with you. Drivers will be limited to 55 and guests will be limited to a maximum of 20 per day.

We have been having courses with lap times around 70-80 secs. using portions of the course more than once. If you have not been out, the runway is large and paved with grippy concrete. Also, we will be having many one day event weekends (points day on Saturday with no practice). This way, it is easier for everyone to get points for the season while still attending events with other clubs. Here is a link to the event flyer:

Let me know if you have any questions.

Do non-SCCA members still have to pay the $15 short-term membership fee?

I think so. $25 for members, $40 for non-members. We average 10-12 runs on a fast 70-80 second course.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

Guys and gals - We need help in promoting our events!

If you're a member of any other Automotive-related forums, plaese help us out by posting a link to this thread in their "Local Events" or "Southeast" or "Autocross" section!

We need all the exposure we can get to boost our attendance!

*edit* as of right now, Miata.net and ClubSi have been covered. I tried to post it to RX8Club but apparently I'm banned there, haha.

I wouldnt count on a lot of ppl for a v-day auto-x just maybe all the single men that run. I think albert made a post for this in local events, but it does help to bump it once a while or toss in some more info to keep it up to date for newbs

Yea, Valentines Day AND my wife's Birthday. I can't even start my car on that day. The one day a year when I have to totally overwhelm her with attention/gifts....

HUH? You guys are approaching this all wrong. Surprise your wife with a day at the Autocross as her valentines Day present! Follow it up with a romantic evening scrubbing off cone marks together. It'll be beautiful
