Default BMWCCA members??

Hey, if anyone is a member of the BMWCCA, off from work on Tuesday and wants to go to Sebring for a special behind the scenes look at the new BMW GT2 ALMS car please let me know. I'm not a member but would like to go to the private test of the new car!

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

Thanks! I wish I knew more details but I only caught wind of this on the ALMS forums. I was hoping some of the BMWCC members knew more...

Finally, a little more info.... A little birdie said bringing your Bimmer isn't exactly mandatory either... (There is a type-o as well; the date is the 25th, not the 28th.)

Dear BMW Race Fanatics:

BMW North America has agreed to allow BMW owners to see the new BMW M3 Race Car that will compete at Sebring next year during test at Sebring next Tuesday, November 28th, 2008. We will be allowed in the Paddock between 10 AM and 2 PM. This is FREE, courtesy of BMW.

This M3 have been flown in from Germany for the test at Sebring. It will be driven during the test by BMWs German drivers. The information gathered will be furnished to Rahal Letterman so they can prepare their ALMS M3.

The exciting thing is that this is a full force effort by BMW with a factory designed race car. This is a serious factory effort, enough to warm the heart of any BMW race enthusiast!

Tests at Sebring normally have the paddock closed to spectators. THIS IS AN EXCEPTION! You, as a BMW owner/enthusiast, will be allowed into the BMW area in the paddock. Just identify yourself as going to the BMW area at the Guard House at the overpass into the Sebring paddock. You will have to sign the release form at the Guard House.

Spread the word. Let's show BMW that we are supporting this effort in a time of tight money for the manufacturers. A big turnout will show BMW we care and are excited. It will also help in obtaining BMW support for the BMW Corral at the 12 Hours of Sebring in 2009.

Tell any BMW folks you talk with at Sebring how much factory support for the BMW Corral will be appreciated!

If you have any questions, please e-mail me at the address below. And, spread the word about Tuesday.

Information cards are attached for you to distribute. Please RSVP to me so we have an approximate head count.

See you there,

Jim Ringold

Got this in the email today.... I'll still have a cooler in tow!

Dear Sebring Tuesday Day Trippers:

BMW has realized that they really don’t want a bunch of unidentified people digging through and photographing their equipment and parts for the new M3 race car.

So, they are asking everyone to meet at Turn Five, you know the one with the Grass Mound. They will serve drinks and the plan is to stop the car for inspection and group photos. We will not be allowed into the paddock.

But we will get to see lots of live action and see the car up close. They plan on stopping the car(s) for viewing and driver interviews.

So, please go directly to turn five when you get to Sebring. See you tomorrow.
