So you think

Yea, the one thing about pinks is the side by side racing. Though I think it could be done at an auto-x just make the finish side by side. I know we all love to drive, but im sure if came on during a weekday after work youd all watch
We should get a bunch of video cameras sometime and make a mock internet show outta it for fun.

SCCA has tried to promote "Pro" solo and even got a few events covered on the old speedvision network, but it's tough to get quality video. what makes pinks in not the racing it's the negotiation, and the arguing and the "cheating" but that's really what makes drag racing intresting. otherwise it's pretty boring to watch too.
The Idea of the gameshow is the game. not what activity it's based around. (monster garage and Junkyard wars excluded) Now if you wanted to use the Street Tuner challenge format and give teams a budget and time limit of 1 day to prep an autocross car then make the teams challenge each other. that could be a blast.
set it up using $2007 challenge rules. give them 1 day to buy a car and 1 day to build it. make it a week apart so they can order parts, done! since an autocross car does not need saftey a good build can be done in a day.

So you would be more about a tv show for a build up then a quick race at the end?

I think it's a successful proven format. and I love "build" shows. to see the ingenuity that racers can have when pressed for time and money. Look at the Top Gear challenges, I'm glued to the TV whenever they do a cheap car challenge. so instead of just buying and challenging, have a build aspect too. That Idea my friend hits on all cylinders.
It has the Time crunch of Monster Garage
The Ingenuity of Junkyard wars.
Real tuning, and real racers.
The best part of Top Gear in my opinion.
autocross makes a great challenge too since any driver can win any day.
and insurance is cheap, and you don't need a ton of saftey gear to compete.
If you wanted to say.. In Tonight's episode, Vans, Station Wagons, Cars built by AMC, whatever. or Even give 2 teams a box stock car, and a budget and a time limit. "here is your 2006 Chevrolet Aveo, tomorow we autocross"

I liked the battle cross that fast did at primus a few years back. It's exactly like an xgames rally course minus the dirt, jump, and crossover. You have two cars on the same course, spaced half a lap away from each other. It also was a lot of fun.
I'll be honest for a group of guys that just want autocross to be fun, and simple. they really have nailed the formula. good events, lots of runs, no BS about the rules. it's simple stupid and I love it!

you can't claim FTD when the rules require a DOT tire!
