I have a couple of questions about this track day...

1) For the drivers school in the morning, will our car (or the car I'm going to get the instruction in) be provided by the student or the instrutor?
If provided by the student, will it need a passenger seat? Harness? I would like to use the lemon for the instruction, but I would like to know up front if I need to modify anything. Our lemon is in good shape so I don't think I'll have a problem with it breaking down or showering oil or parts all over the track.

2) If I don't use our lemon and save it for the enduro, can I use a friends car, my daily driver or a rental for the instruction?

This would be my first organized 'drivers school' so I'm not really sure what the process is.

Thanks guys!

Travis

1. Nobody's providing a car for you to drive, instructors are just along for the ride. If you're a student, yes, the passenger (your instructor) needs the same level of safety equipment as the driver.

2. You can enter any car that you have permission to drive on a race track. (I can neither confirm nor deny that people sometimes use rental cars) While the level of risk of an HPDE event is considerably smaller than a race, it is also considerably greater than something like an autocross... the general "don't put anything on a race track that you aren't willing to walk away from after you crash it into a wall" rule applies.

10-4! Sounds good to me. I'll be impressed how many instructors will be lined up to ride with me in the ol magenta Escort GT!

Does a bucket seat by itself count as safety equipment? As in, you have a bucket seat on the driver's side and a stock passenger's seat with stock seatbelts on both sides. Or as I'm interpreting it, that rule would only apply if you had a harness?

Yeah, that's good enough. Some other clubs might gripe about it... usually, they don't. It's sort of up to the instructor. You just don't want to make them uncomfortable with a disparity in safety equipment. Sort of like, "Yeah, YOU'LL live if we go into the wall... but, what about me???"

With stock seatbelts for the driver AND the passenger, I don't think anyone would gripe about your seat.

Okay gang, time to start prepping for this one!

Those who attended our Sebring event had a great time, and this one offers more track time with fewer people on a new and exciting track. Personally, I can't wait to test it out and see how good it is!

Info is as stated in the links in the above post. But, be aware that the entry fees will see a $25 late fee after Sept 19th. Deadline for entry is Oct 3. Get registered today before you forget!

I don't see "Solo qualified" defined anywhere. Can you elaborate how that will be decided?
