Registration for the August SCCA autocross will close at midnight on the night of July 31! Everyone that wants to come on-site needs to be registered on the CFRSolo2 website - drivers and ALL guests, including children.

So head over to CFRSolo2.com (2008 Central Florida Solo II Schedule) and register. Come out and burn off some tires! We've been doing about 6 runs in our morning sessions, then as many fun runs as you can handle in the afternoon, so you get your money's worth for sure.

 

Are they going to attempt to cancel Saturday afternoon because "it is hot in Florida" again?

 

Nobody attempted to cancel anything. We had our 6 runs in the morning, and those few people that wanted to take fun runs in the afternoon were accomodated. Sometimes, those of us that have been there since 7am are ready to go home earlier than the rest of the crowd, but it's a (somewhat) democratic process. As long as we have some people willing to run and also help to clean up, we'll stick around.

 

So I guess the speech about "Are any of you going to feel ripped off if we cancel the afternoon?" was to get the crowd going?

I'm going to stop right here because I really like the SCCA events. I just wish we had more participation. Sunday is bad for me (travel day), so Saturday is all I got!

Sunday, we kept the event going because 3 out of 23 people voted to keep going. As long as people want to keep running, we'll keep running.

 

Yea, I'm pretty sure there were not 23 people at the "vote" to cancel . There were only 18 cars in the morning. As I said, there was an attempt to cancel the event in the afternoon. Enough already...

EDIT: We did run a bunch of times in the afternoon on Saturday. I had a blast.

 

Saturday and Sunday are different days.

 

Dammit.. I thought I actually was one up in the epic internet post whore battle.. Dammit.. I give...
