Default Bmw / Porsche Autocross

Thanks to Barry and Chris and everyone else for all their hard work.

The Porsche / BMW challenge event was great. About 40 poeple showed up and took their shot at the fun and fast 40-60 second course.
We had five runs in the am before lunch break and another five after.

Thanks to Alann for letting me enjoy the MINI Cooper S. It is a fun car to drive.

Hope to see everyone at the next one in Zephyrhills in a couple of weeks.

Look forward to seeing the results and usual discussion that follows. Who won?

Take care,

As always, a very well run event that gave everyone a bunch of runs. Thanks to all those involved.

I hear the Porsche Club has a .01 second lead. (But I have not seen the individual numbers.)

Is there a name for this thing?
The Bavarian Challange?
The Uber Bowl?
The Pistin Cup?

The Uber Bavarian Brawl for the Pissed in Cup!

I think such an event should be finished with a keg of fine Bavarian Pilsner. Loser buys, of course.

Thank you to Dennis for letting me drive his BMW which survived me *sorry* and damn the cones I could have really closed in on your time.

Thank you to Keith for your instruction, I just needed that time to walk the track and bam got it

Barry and Kris do awesome work as always and thanks to Ralph for getting the PCA out in good numbers. I have to say they did look faster than last year.

I know someone who enjoyed launching his car alot. The starting kones had really nice tire marks by them.

Barry, are the times posted somewhere?

Mark how disappointed was Ralph with your time in his car?

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

Hi every one.. I will have the results posted by tomorrow.

Results were if you do all the averages.. 20 BMWs to the 13 Porsches the Porsche Club did a great job and pulled a 2 second if we average all the cars.
If we do a Top 13 BMWs to the 13 P cars they have a .01 sec lead. So again great job.. The BMW group will have to Make up some time on the 9th..

Im guessing it will be hard to make up the 2 seconds. Hmm we will have to get Spin to show us the course lay out.

I have the course for the 9th sketched on the back of a Wendy's napkin, but I only make suggestions, Ralph is in charge.

Z-hills has a lot of design limitations, so It is usually a simple course.
Right now the Napkin says: Diagonal slalom, sweeper, small slalom, turn around, 4 cone box, straight, slow down box, 3 gates, and the Corvette club ending.
See, it's totally worth coming to Tampa Racing for virtually useless insider information.

Chi town, Ralph was very cool about my use of his tires. I figure I used about $60 worth.
