is there a road track close to us that is open on weekends. iv always wanted to get into roadracing but im not sure where the closest track is

Sebring is the closest "real" road course. From Riverview, it's only about 2 hours.

yea, and Sebring has an event almost EVERY weekend. I think we need to update the schedule since the one listed here is missing a lot of events. some will allow walk up registration. Sebring unlike most tracks does not post their club schedule so it's a guessing game on who is going to be there on what days. but last saturday It was the porsche club and I was able to walk up and register. (this is more difficult if you are a novice since you will need a instructor)
If you pay my instructor fee (usually 20-40 dollars depending opn the club) I'll get you registered into an event and instruct you, the benefit of using me Vs. a club issued instructor is I can help you with car setup and tuning in addition to teaching you proper driving, and you can rest assured you know your not getting someone that is just instructing for the cheap or free track time.
