95 eclipse GST (unfortunately)
I took it around a few bends today that I take with the G35 coupe manual..
the GST took it better I was shocked...
skunk2 coilovers, front & rear strut bar, rear tie bar, aftermarket sway bar, tokico blues & 225/17/45 all around etc and alot more.. I'm amazed how well this car handles polyurthane (sp?) suspension bushings powersteering was deleted (not big I know) etc.. I got alot of receipts for it.. all of it was brand new when it was installed..
I'm considering taking it to the next level.. rear sear deletes, alot of weight reduction, racing seats, aftermarket steering wheel etc..
I'm completely new to this.. so be easy
what do you guys reccomend to get me started and what further mods would you do to the car to better it?
I'm not a bad driver.. I'm competent but I've never been around a track yet..

Anyone here on this forum would be willing to help you out, if you came to an event. Most people never show up and thus it becomes a waste of time. Don't be one of those people. Go to the event, talk to people, ask them if you can ride along, ask the "fast people" to ride with you or drive your car. That's it.
I tried to lose a G35 around an offramp in my Civic, I couldn't do it. I was surprised.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

Get to know your car and become a better driver. I've learned this myself. I good driver can ROCK a stock car, mods just make it a bit easier sometimes.

if you want advice on your current set up, lose the 17's and get something smaller (16's?) with some good rubber, and do as everyone else said, seat time and talk to people. im looking into this as well but will be starting off attending and talking to people before i jump in all the way with a project car just for that.
do nothing to the car & come out to the next event you can make. ask anyone for some help, let 'em know it's your first time. there's nothing wrong with 17's as long as nothing rubs.
