That's an awful brave requirement.... I'd say 5 years and at least 50 autocross events.... (for a normal street car...)

The link posted is pretty useless. Okay, not quite useless, but lacking some key info, like WHERE the event is.

The event is held down in the Keys on a small island with a road that was paved many, many years ago with the intent of building a housing development there. For whatever reason, that fell through, but they've been able to run a VERY cool "autocross" there for about 40 years now.

I've never been, but it looks like a ton o' fun. Just don't allow yourself to run out of grip or skill in the wrong place or you'll end up in "the drink"!

Google "Bay Bottom Crawl" and you can find some personal sites with some good info and some videos.

If you'd let me, I'd be down to co-drive. I've been thinking about another trip to the Keys anyway, haha. My cred: I'ma semi-retired SCCA Club Racer, Panoz Race School Grad., and Chin Mtrspts. instructor.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.
