I dont see why weight would be an honest factor. 240s are lighter but they are almost the same size as a fox body mustang. Not a big a deal to me since I dont have a car anyway, just dont make a lot of sense to me. Even was a power issue a swapped 240 is as fast as a mustang or camaro
My Mustang is no bigger than a 240. It may actually be a bit smaller. If they are allowing WRX's, weight shouldn't be the issue either. They are a little heavier than the average Mustang and have more horsepower. And, only a few inches shorter in size. Seems like an arbitrary exclusion to me.
The track looks about the width of Primus' track. Plenty of room for any car in autocross format.
Loren, in your never ending quest to find new sites, you will be checking into that when you're there, right?

I think the limitation is intended to be one of size, weight AND power. The problem is that the site owner doesn't seem to be up on current cars or they would know that a certain "little Japanese Subaru" is really a big heavy fire-breathing pavement-munching "muscle car".
Of course, it IS a MINI club event. Makes sense that they wouldn't want a bunch of cars that are WAY faster than them at their event. (in addition to the embarassment factor, it's a logistical problem... this kind of event works better when all the cars are capable of similar speeds)
Andrew, I'll collect some contact info (I knew where to get that info, anyway), but I'm not sure OGP is where we want to run a "NASA-X Tampa" event. I don't think we'd get enough of our members to make that trip for it to be worthwhile. It's a little too far away for most people.

Sorrey Loren, we get that from time to time.
If their rules excludes some of you I am really sorry. We didn't make them, but are expected to follow them.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. I agree that it would be a much better event with small 4 cyl cars of equal capabilities. Didn't mean to stir the pot, just offering a defense for the big scary Mustang.
Those Camaros definitely shouldn't be allowed though.
