You would be a novice for your first 6 events at a SCCA event. After your sixth event, you will be classed, street touring, street prepared, street modified depending on the mods to your car other than stock. Just look through the rulebook real good.

You also win your way out too. You get a trophy at event you proceed to your class. I wouldnt worry filling out # and the class online anyway for registration. The SCCA is helpful enough to put you into the correct class and you get you a # when you goto the event.
