Now this would be worth a cross-state trip...
if it is concrete and not z-hills quality tarmac.

Are you a Brevard County resident that would like to see autocrossing come back to the Melbourne/Palm Bay area? Does this course look like fun to you? Then you need to help us convince the board of directors to let us use the site by filling out your name and address on this survey and e-mailing it to valkaria.airport@brevardcounty.us . Thanks for helping!

Valkaria Airport update:
I attended a meeting of the Valkaria Airport advisory board on June
6th and gave my pitch. After some discussion, we were granted
approval to hold a limited trial event. Some of the restrictions
placed on this first event were a 60 car maximum and a 3:00 PM time
limit. Since the neighbors expressed concerns about the noise levels,
we will need to adhere strictly to our 98 Db noise limit, meaning
mufflers on all cars.
Tim is in the process of filing sanction papers for August 20th. We
will need to do pre-registration only for this first event.
The pavement is in very bad shape at the moment. I was hoping to get
some repair work done to it before the first event, but the board
requested to wait until after the trial event before initiating repair
work. The course design will have to be modified somewhat to work
around the bad spots. The site in its present condition is far too
rough to permit karts.
I will be attending another board meeting September 7th, at which time
I will request allowing full events on a bi-monthly basis. Wish me
luck!
