elliot in an elise?
i was just looking over the gcac results from a couple weeks ago & noticed elliot was driving an elise
anyone know if he'll be co-driving it at GIR or brooksville?

I didn't recognize the owner of the car, but I think that it will only run gcac events. I don't know if he will be driving it again in the future, but I did hear that he was complaining about it. But, when is he not complaining about something?
It's Malcolm's. He got rid of the Mini once it became available so Elliot's Mini co-drive is now an Elise co-drive. I expect he'll be at Brooksville a time or two. There's a couple of pictures of it on the GCAC site. Pretty cool car but I'm afraid that it might be too slow for SS and too fast for AS. That'd be a pity.

He thought it was a total hunk of shit (for "SS").
Maybe when the LSD comes online and there are some front sway bar options it'll be competitive. It has some formidiable performace figures...especially for Pro Solos.
I can't stand this new look to the TR board......................

he was complaining about the elise??? well i guess he was considerably slower than AS. was it on the stock tires?
i remember this one day at GIR he was like 2-3 seconds ahead of 2nd place in STS & just bitching like hell at how bad the mini was on course

Yeah - it's totally stock, not even an alignment and on the A048's. With some sorting and a set of R comps, I figure he'd have been 3 seconds faster but keep in mind that Ian was driving an unsorted car with used R3S04's. Sort that GT-3 out and put some V710's on it and he'd have been in the 59's.

I think the Elise would have been a decent car for the small, tighter courses, but with also including the GT3 into SS, they just put the Elise in a situation where it's not better for any reason.
Give it more development time, and give it to one of the development specialists... see what it'll do then. As of right now, it's just a really cool street car.
