What are the requirements for attending a SAFE Motorsports event? I remember the head of that program dropped a few emails out here a year or so ago and I looked into it.

It appeared at the time that they required you to have some track driving experience and didn't offer a complete "novice" class, is that true? I remember posting that question either here or in a private email, but I never got an answer.

What are their safety equipment requirements?

I'm not sure I'll be able to free up time in January to go, I'm just looking for general info for myself and the many lurkers here who will never ask a question.

Check it out at SAFEMotorsports.com. Seems pretty cool to me. It's $50 a year for membership and the event is $250. A tad cheaper than a weekend of Club Racing since it's just a one day thing. You supposedly get like 5 or so hours of track time. They I think require a Competition Licence or attendance of an accredited road racing school. I don't know if auto-x experience counts, but maybe Solo 1 stuff does. It's on January the 22nd.
