Default EBC yellow pads anyone?

The EBC rep came by the shop and is going to hook me up with a free set of EBC yellow pads to try out. Has anyone used these pads with any success? Our brake pads have been running at over 1200^F and supposedly these are good to 1500 or so he says.

We tried these pads a year or so ago with very dismal results, I'm not sure if they were bedded correctly since I didn't install them at that time but they sure didn't hold up. On paper they seem to be pretty close to the porterfield r4s we run now and supposedly they have been re-formulated but I want to know if anyone has run them recently with any success.

I've never heard of a hardcore trackday or roadracing guy actually use anything from EBC. Everyone seems to be on the porterfield, cobalt, carbotech, hawk, etc... bandwagon

Yeah me too. We got a set for free so maybe we'll just try them in practice or something.

Never used yellows but I haven't been impressed with EBC's street/track pad offerings in the past so I'll assume their track pads are equally poor. I suppose some practice laps wouldn't hurt anything though. Let us know how they bite.
