SunRiders AutoX - 11/20/2004 - Wrap-up
despite burning oil and leaving early, it was fun. and i just installed a 1/2 quart catch can to insure that it doesn't happen next time.

That's right, bitches, TWO quotes!

I had a good time. I came sooooo close to making a 39 on my last run.

Hey, thanks, Charles! I was just coming here to post this.
Awesome event today! 56 drivers, 8 runs, done and gone by 4:30. It doesn't get any better than that! Huge thanks to Event Chairman Chad Sutton, Co-Chairman Susie Sutton, Registrar Mark Cookman and assistant Wendy, and all of the other volunteers who made this event go so smoothly.
About that finish... you know, if people didn't panic and lock up their brakes they did just fine. It's not like there was a "stop box" there or anything. You merely had to slow down enough to hook to the left a little bit. It WAS a little hairy for about the first 5 cars that ran early in the morning. The exit gate to the left was VERY tight at that time requiring a HARD 90-degree left.
Consider it a "bonus challenge". After the finish, so it didn't count for anything (we didn't even count the cones that people hit when they blew the braking zone), but a good test of your braking control.

I had a blast today. I was disappointed with my driving last weekend and got some advice for adjusting my driving style. It worked very well and I am glad I took the opportunity to come out and try what I learned.
I think that the Sunrider's event was a lot of fun. When I finally drag my wife to an autocross I'll probably start her out at one of these events.

The truck is long overdue for some 12.x" LS1 front binders anyway.......
So when is this members only night autoX in December? Sunriders site says December 3rd @ 5pm which is a Friday night so I'm guessing thats wrong? When I paid to renew my membership I was told it was going to be on Sunday Dec 5th, and the sticky autoX schedule in this forum says the 4th
I had a great time! Good course design, and good pizza. Where else can you get 8 runs at an autocross...it just doesn't happen! With that many runs, I might only have one more event before my tires go off.
