I dont know, according to the results the other car was a few seconds faster than me.
Totally different course. It was the same in length, that's where the similarities end. You looked smoother. My brief peek inside the '92 GT says it's been club racing. Actually I think the non-owner who we push started said that too. So, he may have had a lot more ponies and/or a better suspension. Anyhow, stick with it. I assume you had a lot of fun and walked away from a few runs with your hands a little shaky? That's the best. If I don't feel a little weird when I get out of the car than I was going too slow (or looped it and am seeing red & cussin' like a trucker).

yeah, the actual owner of the blue GT said he tracked it a lot. He IS also on here, but I forget the name. He said he rarely checked it, but had a couple times, and had just bought an engine or something off TR.

Repeat after me:

"An autocross is not a race, it is a timed precision driving event."

(didn't we just discuss this a few days ago?)

Something like that.

It really just has to do with perception. From the driver's perspective, a good autocross run can produce an adrenaline rush similar to racing. Of course, the level of RISK (to both persons and property) involved is much less, and that's the part we need to stress to certain people. People like our insurance companies, lawyers (oh nevermind, don't bother trying to tell THEM anything), and probably most important at our level, site owners. When we go talk to site owners looking for potential autocross sites, we tell them how safe it is and that it's NOT racing, it's much safer than racing. So, there you have it.

This has been a public service announcement.
