Default Can a alarm be bench tested?

I have a alarm that malfunctioned once so i disconected it but i still think its good can this be bench tested to see if its ok?

I am a curious mind... What do you mean by bench testing if someone would care to explain?

bench testingis basically testing an amp or elctrical somehting in a stable enviroment, IE the bench with power supply and a signal etc..
