ok i have 2 10" rockfords with a vdrive 2800 crunch amp. visonic corssover pyrimid 4 chan amp and 2 power caps. it was all working perfect sounded great but today something happened to it and i dont know what i need to do to fix it my mids and highs are fine but as soon as i give the crunch amp power it makes all the speakers in the car go crazy and the subs just move in slow mostion in and out. why would it all the sudden do this? does any one know what i can do that may fix the problem i tryed switching rcas but that didnt fix it. and i noticed after bout 10 seconds when the amp is giving power and the speakers go crazy that it goes into protect and then the mids and highs just go back to normal the amps gain is all the way down. and all the power to the two amps are seperate from each other. i also noticed that it started to do it once i had sirius radio installed. could the incoming singnal from the sat be messing it all up? if you can help me out please leave a message or e-mail me justin.hofmann@Gte.net thanks.

 

sounds to me like a wire is touching the body of the car some where or your radio is messed up to make your sub serge like that i would disconect one speak from the amp at a time and see if it works right or dis. them all and hook one up at a time then if it keeps doing it take out the radio and use one speaker((you have just sitting around))then try each channel of the radio to see if there is a problem if nothing again your amp is shut and the inside is fired

 

hmm thanks for the info ill have to check my wires and see if i can see anything. if worst comes to worst ill just take it into the shop and have them look at it i guess

I reccomend shops for this.. I personally woudl take things out compoent by compoent/ replace them and see whathappens

 

how do you have sirius connected? Is it RF modulated, connected with RCAs, or is it a dedicated tuner?

 

i have the tuner whitch just plugs into the headunit
