Made in the middle of WWII before a retrospective view of how the war turns out

It's been 78 years since the movie was released, and IMHO it is still the quintessential movie of all time. The chemistry of Bogart, Ingrid, Henreid, and Rains was made in heaven. I can't think of any contemporary actors that could take this unassuming (to the studios at the time) and turn it into this unforgettable gem.

Today, Bogart types couldn't get past the studio front gate, and Rains type just doesn't exist anymore. Same goes for Ingrid and Paul Henreid.

And all this magic was created on a shoestring in the backlot of a Warner Brothers studio. The other amazing thing was
the movie was made in the middle of WWII before there was a retrospective view of how the war turns out.

Ingrid Bergman was the greatest actress of all time, both in talent and beauty. She was the favorite actress of Ernest Hemingway and Eugene O'Neil. She made movies in English, Swedish, French, Italian and German; all to great acclaim. She appeared on the stage in London, Paris, New York, Los Angeles and more.

She ended her life with a crowning achievement, portraying Golda Meier in a 4 hour TV miniseries
while in great pain, dying from cancer, for which she received many awards posthumously.

What a lady.
