Default is an in line fuse needed?

i know this may sound really dumb to the tech heads.... but.......

the amp has a 30amp fuse in it. do i need to go get an in line fuse for the power wire as well?

if so, where do you think i could find an inline fuse for a 10g power wire locally?
home depot? lowes?

bestbuy's website says they only have them available online

you should put one in close to the battery. Purpose is so that if the wire gets cut or ends up rubbing too much on a sharp metal corner and it shorts out -- you'll just pop the fuse and that will be the end of that, rather than screwing up the battery or much, much worse. (Disco Infernooooooo!)

You can get them at any car audio store or online. hell, i even have an extra one i bought just in case. No sense to leave out the inexpensive safety equipment!

It's VERY VERY important for all the reasons that PO57 mentioned. I see you're in Brandon, I don't know where to send you out in that areas but I know SoundWaves on Adamo drive woulnd't be a far drive and they are good people. I'm sure they have what you need.

We also have 10 ga kits in stock (Stinger's budget line-Sound Quest). Two of my employees drive from Brandon everyday-about 25 minutes. So, if you don't find them locally, come see us. Be sure to mention that you are a TR member though to get the appropriate discount.
