Seen this MANY times.. 99% go bad..

Few questions..
How do you set your gain?
What do you ground to?
Where do you set the bass boost?
I have a true 1000 rms watt amp with no internal fusing? what kind of fusing should I run and where?

Those are just a few BASIC things

OP dont think these are questions to call you out in offense. This is to protect fellow members and help you by letting them know of how much you know. We understand you want to save people money by not using a shop but like stated before.....it usually always ends up going sour.

too many people nowadays think car audio installing is super easy.

I thought i knew enough. I was at my friends Audio shop waiting for the wife when she pulled up frantic.....the cd player was smoking.

buddy asked who installed it and the wife of course said my name. Just goes to show that even though something as simple as a radio can get screwed up.

the radio still works fine. i looked at it and nothing seems to be the culprit. I capped off the antenna and ilumination wires since they were just cut, just make sure but nothing seemed burnt...weird.

I'm not going to hear the end of it now

wtf happened there?? I will do any wiring amps h.u speakers subs etc.. I won't mount tweeters unless no permanent modifying goes into unless its my vehicle.. not worth the hassle.. People on here need to learn about gain and bass boost.. seen too many using em as a volume knob.. oh its not loud enough.. crank that gain!!

It's always easy until it breaks. Then it's the old "I did it all right, but it's not working..."
