bmw e36 head unit

Post bmw e36 head unit

have have a 95 bmw 325ic and head unit is broken.. it has 10 speakers and some extra wires for the head unit, does any one know how to connect up a after merket head unit? i dont want to get this one fix, and i do not have the code for it.. and dont feel like playing around with bmw to get it.. i dont like there dealerships, they suck lol. love there cars but not them..

10 speaker factory speakers/amp with an aftermarket HU? The only way to retain that stuff without major rewiring is to use a Metra 70-8591 factory amp integration harness. The sound is not the greatest but you can usually at least a better final result than factory anyway. When we deal with these older bimmers, we try to just gut the factory HU, bypass the amp, and install good coaxials in the rear with good two way components in the front. A decent 4 channel amp and call it a day.

BMW's unfortunately had a very over-engineered stereo from the factory.

I never thought about just doing 4 speakers... that's a realy good idea.. thanks a lot bro, you have any tips at all?
