can anyone tell me what the cubic feet is to this box?

38 1/4" Width, 12 1/2" Height, 15 1/2" TD, 12 1/2" BD

so the box isn't square i take it?

break it down into a square(or rectangle) (also known as a prism) and a right triangle

volume of prism = width X height X depth
volume of triangular section = 1/2 X base X height X depth

then volume of box = volume Z + volume A

go to the12volt.com and use the volume calculator it does the take out for wood and gives you internal air space

if you are using 3/4 mdf your internal air space is 3.24 cubes

Yep. My dimension was the outside dimension . with a box that size I would use no less than 3/4"
