I have 2 MTX thunder 8000's (12's). They are about 4-5 years old but have been sitting on a shelf for a few years. A while ago, i blew the voicecoils on them... They dont work at all...I hate to think about throwing them out. I think i spent around $500 for the pair of them (at least that was retail back then) Are they even worth anything with blown voicecoils? Is there somewhere I can bring them to get them replaced for somewhat cheap? any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Here's a pic of what they look like. The magnet of the thing is HUGE!!

 

I'd contact MTX directly and see if they are still willing to recone them. Blown up they're not worth really anything, but make sure the cost to recone them makes sense when compared to the cost of a new woofer.
