Default other sound systems will never be the same...

So thanks everyone for the assurance that the subs will add in the low end that the speakers cant get. To tell you the truth after listening to the stereo in my car, stereos that once sounded pretty good in other cars are now flat and dull sounding. I will say Polk makes an excellent speaker you can crank them and its still crystal clear. The subs fill in so much I love it. Dont know till you try though. If I ever get a new car I will most likely be taking my speakers with me haha. I would love to know the max I can turn up the volume before risking damage on the speakers. They are only powered by the head unit amp which is either 22 or 17 watts rms which who knows if thats the real wattage it puts out. Does that mean I could crank them and they wont blow or receive damage? Not like I need to play it that loud but just out of curiousity.

you could crank them and they most likely won't thermally die but they might get a clipped signal at full tilt and it might kill em

I wouldn't worry too much as long as they're not distorting.

I never take anything past 3/4 of the way up . You are not going to get any louder you are just adding distortion and that is what causes damnage

alrighty i'm safe then. A guy was doing a little tuning after installation and we had the volume at 30 and it was still clear but way too loud to drive with I put it on 25 max usually and windows open you cant hear the wind. Whats the sound limit in the state?

Default Sound Limits

Every city has different sound ordinances

but most any more have it set up where it is up to the discretion of the officer

which truly means you can get a ticket for a factory radio some places if the officer wants to ticket you

I personally believe that the sound ordinances have gotten ridiculous

Example Sarasota can impound your vehicle for a sound ordinance violation

that is ridiculous and if enough people complain to their congressman they will have to regulate these laws at a state level and make them more responsible and fair

I believe that to play music at disrupting levels beyond 10 pm at night in a residential area should be illegal just as it always has been but the laws today have gotten out of control and the only way to change it and correct it is if enough voters speak up and demand it

yeah I dont plan on playing it loud enough to be waking people up and stuff just at meets hanging around playing some music. To impound a car over music is rediculous i can see a warning then a ticket but to actually impound a car thats a little over the top.

wait if they can hear your music from 25 feet away you get ticketed? With my doors closed and a good playing level you can probally faintly hear the music. With the windows open your deffinately hearing it 25ft away. You could probally hear it over 100ft away
