Default 98 accord lx no sound

Hi my friend has a 98 accord lx and sound stopped coming from the radio. The radio is on so its kinda weird. He bought a new head unit cause he though that was the problem but still nothing. The wierd thing is there is power to the unit though, it turns on and everything. Any ideas?

Negative. way earlier than 98, Accords could be equipped with the Bose audio systems featuring an optional eq and an oem amplifier powering all four speakers and an optional subwoofer located in the rear deck.

Whether he has that system or not I cant say but that's the logical place to start assuming he isn't a total idiot and wired it correctly.

I'm going to somewhat disagree with opinions, but this is totally off memory and it's been a long time since I've seen a accord of that year so i could be wrong. I believe that the Bose system in that vehicle has the amp located at each speaker.

I know GM made that horrid mistake, but I haven't seen an import with them.

Nissan and Infinity have both used that setup, and for some reason the late 90's accords stick in my head too...but i'm not positive on it.
