I don't sell either brand, so I'm not biased in that way. If the w6v2 is within your budget you're going to get better performance out of that sub than the other two. I'd also suggest taking a look at the MTX Thunder 85 and 75 series of woofers, and the Thunder Square's as well. Great bang for your buck there. I'll be swapping my truck full of the MTX stuff in the coming weeks, if you'd like to hear it firsthand.

I have a 15" Custom Built Nightshade that would probally outperform a pair of any of those subs, given the power. And would also blow away the first two in SQ and almost be up to par with the W6v2s.

Well if you can afford 2 12" JL W6's and you want it to hit HARD, why not try some big boy subs! lol, ascendant audio or Fi. I mean, i've got a pair of RE MX 12's for sale right now that will blow all of those out of the water when it comes to SPL and SQ!!

Stick with the JL 12W6's. Yes we sell them so yes I am biased. BUT, we also sold Kicker for YEARS and I cannot even give the few I have left here away at cost (see our ad in our shop forum) because when people come in and compare the subs firsthand on the display board, they ALWAYS pick the JL's. Or, just use one 13W7 and call it a day. It will knock louder than any combo mentioned here-louder SPL and cleaner SQL-any installer here who has installed these in the past will agree. Again, as long as it is in your budget anyway. If not, my second would be the 12W6's.

I prefer the RE Audio , theyre waaay cheaper than JL and will out perform the Kicker any day. Take a look at the RE SE 12s

Pricing on JL products has come down over the years. Many members here have been suprised. Their technology has been paid for and the recession happening have been main drivers for this...

the sub is just 1/3 of the setup, proper box build and design, and power and tuning, all together will make or break a system. With over 20+ years of install, i have used/seen it all, the constant from their beginning as been JL - you could not go wrong with them, MTX is not what it used to be (I was once sponced by them) but i am sure they still have some nice products, Kicker I always hated - they are a 6 month sub then they sound worn out.....
the Fi & Re lines seam to be a spl sub - but i would put a 13w6 against them anyday. Any shop with the great big phone book like catalog of parts can order them along with pyle, lanzar, us amps and several other name brands that have gone to the mass distributers, You get what you pay for and that goes with product and labor, in todays market it really is a buyers market and you could almost name your price.
