Default Anyone here repair amps?

Well? Do you? I have a 1000w amp that I got from a guy who said that he "blew it", but it might be able to be repaired. I got it for $10, so if not, no big deal, but if it can be repaired, then I'ma do it.

I'll get that info, but...This raises the obvious question: If I'm willing to PAY for it to be repaired, then wouldn't it be "worth fixing" for the person repairing it?

Not really. Willingness and worth are two totally different things. Amp repairs are usually expensive and many times a whole new amp is the most sensible option.

www.ampmedics.net

I have heard of this company but never witnessed any of their work or heard from anyone that has used them. Worth a shot though? Post results if they come through for you...

As the consumer, it is my decision as to whether or not it is monetarily worth it to fix it, but I understand what you're saying. However, I can't imagine it would cost more than a 1000 watt amp would new. But thats just me.

MCOR, I think I'll try them and see what happens. Hudson is close enough to me to make the trip I guess....maybe.

A&B Audio in Tarpon Springs repaired a Bostick 1000w Amp for my buddy Charlie earlier this year. Charged him like $75 IIRC.
