Default What Amp?

I have a 10 inch Audiobahn aw1051x. Says its rated for 300watts. what kind of amp should i get? I dont want it to slam too much, just enough to kick up the bass a little. Also, if i were to get a box, what kind of box should i get? ported, sealed? I have no idea. thanks guys. The rest of the setup is Pioneer 3 way 6 inch rounds through out the car (4 of them), and a kenwood KDC838tu i think is the model number.

Thanks,

Dave

With amps, you generally get what you pay for. The good thing about subs is they're not as picky as speakers as far as sq goes. As long as it puts out atleast a solid 200-300w rms you should be fine. I'd use a ported box built to audiobahn's specs...they seem to work the best for audiobahn from my experience.

I would get something rated for at least 500wrms that way you can be sure you wont be clipping and can get the most out of your sub.

I've built a few boxes for audiobahn subs and I've really liked the sound from their standard ported boxes using 3" and 4" round ports. I've tried slotted ports and they were just as loud, but there's just something about a round port that sounds better to me.

well the sub came with the car so thats what im working with. And really, if i could, i would rather have an 8 inch sub, im not all about bass, But my pioneer speakers just arent enough, so i need something to kick the bass up a little. Thanks for the helpful posts guys!
